Spencer uses Medtronic implants for spinal fusion surgeries. The thing is, these implants are temporary and not designed to be left in the body after fusion -- but he didn’t tell us that. 
He did a major, aggressive fusion on me when I was 14. I developed serious chronic pain and fatigue and Spencer denied there was anything wrong with me. 
In the end, I was forced to have another major surgery to have the implants removed and it turned out because these TEMPORARY implants had been left in my body, I was having a severe necrotic reaction -- my flesh had rotted and died inside of me! The implants that I was told would last a lifetime were corroded and bent.
I have serious concerns about Spencer’s motivations and competency. 
Please, do not send loved ones to this man and always seek a second opinion.

The staff was nice and accommodating, however I was not impressed by Dr. Spencer. I came to this clinic because I was having horrible back pain for 4 months with no resolution, despite trying a multitude of things. I made a special trip into Anchorage and was hoping to get some answers with him being a specialist. However, after seeing him I felt like it was a waste of my time. I felt like he didn't care about me or my pain and that he was just trying to get me in an and out. I could go on and on about all my frustrations with him, but I'm not going to. I was so disheartened and disappointed with this experience. Then to top it off, the bills that I had to pay with essentially no answers. In the end, the fact of the matter is that I will never go back to see him. This experience also makes me think twice about going back to this clinic as well.
