Dr Kanarek grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated high school there. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr Kanarek always wanted to get to Boston to visit his grandmother in Malden every summer, so he was delighted to attend Tufts Medical School, where he got his pediatric training at Boston Floating Hospital of the New England Medical Center. Dr Kanarek joined Dr Lipman in practice in West Peabody in 1974 and has enjoyed teaching Tufts residents and medical students while serving as his Chief of Staff at North Shore Children’s Hospital in Salem and Chief of Pediatrics at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
