I ask a lot of questions and they were all answered. I also advocate for myself and feel free to make my own decisions. For example, in this diagnosis were several MRI's. A Lumbar Puncture was also ordered. Since the MRI's were the least intrusive procedure, I question whether they would provide sufficient information for my doctor to make a diagnosis. Turns out the MRI's along with the examination were sufficient and I didn't need the Lumbar puncture. My medical team wasn't the least bit offended about my decision.

I went to Dr. Cohan with the idea of exploring another DMT and discontinuing Tysabri. He carefully and with respect explained that this was the best treatment for me and reason why other treatments would not be viable. He also told my husband and me about a new medication in phase 3 testing that would hopefully be available for me in about 18 months. He was honest that my disease was becoming Progressive that gave me great hope for continuing with my current treatment and getting benefits from this new treatment.

Dr. Cohan and his entire team are excellent. I can use MyChart for some of my questions and to request Prescription refills. The team is quick to respond and also lets me know when Prescriptions have been sent in. Dr. Cohan takes the time to discuss any issues I might have and explains things in a way that I can understand. I have already recommended him to other people and will continue to do so.

Dr. Cohan has always been a calm and stabilizing presence, in my efforts to cope with Secondary Progressive MS. Although he has not been able to prescribe any of the many medications available to others, he has offered me far more than any other neurologist I have ever been to, in the way of support, and I am so grateful to him for that.

I am a returning patient. I wanted to come back to Dr Cohan as I respect his knowledge of my condition. It has been about 7yrs since I have been with Dr Cohan and I was with him about 10rs before that. Did not receive anywhere near the help with the Doctor I had since then and was excited when I could return to Providence and Dr Cohan.

Dr. Cohan is an incredible physician. He is so knowledgeable about MS and all of the numerous DMT's (disease modifying therapies). He discusses pros and cons of each one and helps you make the right decisions. I believe that he is the reason that my MS has not progressed any farther than it has.

Dr. Cohan isn't just an amazing neurologist, he's a kind man. He's funny and puts his patient's at ease. He tells great stories and knows his history. He knows everything about MS and what's on the horizon. I may hate MS, but knowing he's taking care of me makes it bearable.
