My experience with Dr. Kim terrible. I've had nerve pain for the last 4 years. This pain is contant, never goes away and is an 8, unless I take medication. Dr. Kim did a trial spinal cord stimulator. It was a disaster--as he was inserting the "wire" into my spinal column, it felt like someone was poking me in the back with a coat hanger--almost jumped off the table. The stimulator did not help my pain

He then did a trial medicine pump. This also didn't work. Dr. Kim did not believe that my pain was real, had zero sympathy or empathy for my discomfort and basically accused me of lying. I would never exaggerate the pain, nor lie about it. I think his ego was hurt or something, that what he did for me didn't help. Instead of being kind and understanding that these procedures didn't help my non-stop pain, for 4 years, he was an ass. After the procedure, he prescribed pain medication in a dosage that wasn't sufficient to reduce my pain, at least to the point I could go to work.
I called him the week following the surgery/procedure, to tell him that I had found an article on the internet that I felt could be the answer to my problems, at least to know what I have, neurologically. I also called to tell him that the pain medication he prescribed wasn't working effectively. First, he had ZERO EMPATHY for the fact that I was suffering consistent levels of substantial pain, kept interrupting me every time I tried to say something, talked down to me like a child, and said that he wouldn't discuss this on the phone with me, that I had to schedule yet another office visit with him--pardon my french, but he was a TOTAL ASSHOLE. There's no way I would want him in my corner, trying to help me solve something I've been trying to solve for 4 years (when I have no quality of life whatsoever). He simply doesn't care. It's business for him. His bedside manner is TERRIBLE. Find someone else--anyone would be better than this guy. If you want to discuss this with me, let me know thru this website. I'll figure how we can contact each other, anonymously.
