Wow! Dr Hoffman is the most unprofessional medical professional I have ever encountered.. I could only stand 20 minutes of her unfriendly, unwelcoming, stand-off attitude. She never said “hello”, “how are you?”, “welcome”, “I’m Dr. Hoffman let’s gat started”. None of that … just “fill out this information and give me your payment information. She wanted a credit card guarantee for at least $1,500 just in case my insurance didn’t pay her in full. She said “insurance companies take your premiums and then don’t pay for her services and Blue Shield is the worst”. I told her that I had a referral and asked if she checked my insurance to see if there would be any issues. Her response was “why would I waste my time and do that? That’s between you and your insurance company. All I do is test you and write a report“. Anyway, I wasn’t comfortable giving her a credit card authorization. All this is after waiting 3 months for an appointment and chatting with her on the phone for 10 minutes when I made the appointment. During those 10 minutes she felt it appropriate to tell me that instead of the memory issues my neurologist diagnosed it sounded to her like I had concentration issues because I wasn’t using my CPAP machine enough. A diagnosis over the phone after 10 minutes? Really? I should have canceled the appointment right then and there. Anyway, at a minimum Dr. Hoffman is an unprofessional, unpleasant “doctor” with no “bedside manner” whatsoever. At worst she’s an incompetent malpracticing quack. It was the most unpleasant 20 minutes I’ve spent in a long time. When I left she said I was an unpleasant person. I told her that the reviews I read about her were accurate and that she ran a shitty business. I know it’s hard, but keep looking for a good neuropsychologist; Dr. Hoffmann isn’t one of them.
