I took her as my new doctor because she was really well review online as a good listener. Couldn't be further from the truth. 

She completely steamrolled me throughout the first appointment, talking all about general health and diabetes when I was mostly just there to check in, tell her about my newfound food allergies and update her on how my chronic back pain has been (pretty good actually). 

I could barely get a word in edgewise through what felt like a preprepared 20 minute speech on diabetes. I felt like I was in high school health class! Elementary stuff like what a breakfast should be. And every time I tried to intimate that I understood she just kept on going like I was a kid.

 The few times I did manage to speak up, she treated what I said like a joke. In a friendly way, don't get me wrong, she wasn't laughing at me, she was trying to get me to laugh *with* her, but still, NOT what I want in a physician! Unless you have diabetes, steer clear, that seems to be the area where she actually knows her stuff.

PS: I didn't even think she listened to me about the food allergy thing, until I received a referral call from the Allergy clinic two weeks later out of the blue. It was not addressed in the appointment beyond "oh, you'd probably need an epi-pen for that" and no mention of a referral or prescription for that being made. So at least there's that: she may be listening even if she doesn't actually address it. Looking for a new provider.
