Dr. Caridad refused me treatment at his practice. I had waited 6 months to get in, had a terrible appointment with the assigned psychiatrist and filed a complaint about it. Without reading my prior ADHD diagnosis or discussing my career with me, the Dr told me that I would need to stop taking my medication because he didn’t believe I had ADHD because what happens is ‘intelligent women with successful careers will make it so far and not be able to handle it so they claim they have ADHD’. Dr. Caridad took weeks to get back to me on my complaint and being rescheduled with someone else. He then refused me treatment at his practice stating no psychiatrist will see me because I have previous ADHD diagnosis. He still did not cancel my follow up apt with this Dr as I asked. There is an $85 no show fee, so I followed up to make sure it was cancelled and then received a letter from Dr Caridad stating I had self-discharged myself from their care, when they had actually refused me service.
