Due to insurance change, my new Primary Care Doctor referred me to Dr Mirza. At my initial visit in January, his bedside manner was lacking. He demanded to know the results of all my tests which I told him and the dates of each exacerbation which I didn't remember but are in my record at Barrow's. Due to a MRI report that listed small vessel ischemic disease and demyelation as radiologists don't diagnose and my age, he thought it was small vessel ischemic disease but ordered tests to prove him right. At the followup Dr Mirza was convinced I had small vessel ischemic disease not MS after reading reports on 4 MRIs, visual evoked potentials and labs. As the visual evoked potentials and MRI was abnormal, he wanted me evaluated at Barrow's where I had been initially diagnosed with MS after ruling out small vessel ischemic disease and other causes by Dr Timothy Vollmer back when he headed up Barrow's MS Program and is a world renowned expert in MS. Dr Mirza's staff never got my records even after my telling them where they were at my first visit and her asking afterwards. She gave me copies of lab report and MRIs of the spine. She did not give me copies of the MRI of the brain or visual evoked potentials. They did not have the films as he can't read them. I had a disc with the MRIs done at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. All it requires to read them is to download the software which is available for both Windows and Macs. Neurologists are supposed to be able to read them. All the neurologists I worked with at Barrow's could as could I. They trained their nurses well. As Barrow's was dropped from my insurance, I found Banner had a MS Clinic where I saw Dr Barry Hendon. He stated he will take over my care for MS. I then informed Dr Mirza's staff Dr Hendon would take over my care and cancelled my appointment with Dr Mirza.
