I have been going to Dr Richards for a couple years, and my appointments with her have been great! The only thing I've ever seen her for was annual check ups; that's simple enough.

However, twice, last year, I called to try to get seen same-day for something other that preventative care. I was told I will get a callback to see if they can fit me into the schedule. Well, I waited and no callback to even say I can't be seen. This occurred for 2 separate issues.

This year, I had to do a mammogram, which does not require authorization from the doctor. The results were sent to Dr Richards, and she requested a follow-up mammogram, which requires authorization. I got a call from her office advising me that they will send an order/auth to the hospital, and the hospital will call me to schedule my follow-up. A week and a half passed and no call so I called the hospital myself and was told that they have no order for my follow-up. I called Dr Richards office to request that the order be sent to the hospital. Well, they sent the order to Presbyterian instead of Baylor, which is where I did my mammo. No biggie; I called back the office and let them know it was sent to the wrong hospital. The person I spoke with said she will fax the order that day and I will need to call Baylor to schedule. I called Baylor next day to schedule, only to be told that they have no order! Called back Dr Richards office and was told that the order was awaiting approval from Jana Davis (I have no clue who this is) so I informed them that my doctor is Dr Richards. I was then transferred to Shereen who said they were waiting for Dr Richards to sign the order! When I told Shereen that the person who answered the phone told me they were waiting for Jana Davis, her response was 'Well, that was the front desk; we are in the back with the documents'. Really??? It would be fine if all I go into that office for is preventative care, but they don't seem capable of handling anything outside of simple!
