"While Dr Nelson is friendly and easy to talk to, he is much more passive about diagnosing issues than I was comfortable with. My child had a medical issue that went undiagnosed for over 6 months before he referred us to a specialist. His recommendation was to continue to monitor the issue with visits to his office every 2 weeks. During this time, my child dropped from the 80% to the 3% on the growth chart. Turned out that the concerns I kept raising (which Nelson kept brushing aside as "normal") were related to enlarged adenoids and tonsils - which was diagnosed by his new doctor on the first visit after simply listening to his labored breathing. In addition, the office is always backed up and I often waited for over an hour to be seen for scheduled well visits. I would not recommend Dr Nelson and wish we had transferred my child to a new provider sooner rather than letting the issue go on for 6 months. "
