Endocrinologist - Staten Island, NY

"i called this office in early march- requesting appointment- was informed next available would be in mid may--i reluctantly accepted as my pcp indicated that he preferred this physician-stated he was the best. one week before my scheduled appointment received phone call- that that physician would not be seeing any new patients- which was understandably due to the health pandemic occurring. i called my numerous times before i reached the answering service and pleaded since i had already waited so long could i have a phone or video visit-i was informed that message would be sent to office--i never heard back from this office- either way- indicating yes or no- just completely ignored my request. many attempts to recall and call was not answered. Very unprofessional staff- which reflects poorly on the physician- first impressions count and this office sent out bad ones-i will continue my search for another doctor.--this review will not allow me to forward with rating- since i was unable to meet with physician it is basically for the staff which should be a zero- and n/a for the physician "

"The phones were answered quickly. The person was friendly and accommodating. My appointment was scheduled for a reasonable time. On my visit the staff was professional and receptive. The wait time was very reasonable. Upon my consultation Dr. Calamia was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He explained what was going on with me in a language I understood. He displayed real concern for my health and made me feel like I was his only patient. Thank you for a wonderful experience."
