"I visited the midwives 6 months into my 1st pregnancy, in 2015. I left another big name hospital in the city, as I felt that my concerns were not being addressed, and that the care provided was not intimate enough. Pregnant women have lots of concerns and fears, and I did not feel that they were considered to be legitimate causes. I wanted the experience of a home birth, but opted for a hospital, in order to quell my partner's discomfort with going that route. I found Damara Jenkins while researching midwives in KY. She was everything that I did not know that I needed,since I had never given birth before. It is an experience that one has to go through, in order to appreciate the knowledge and support that she provides. To make this short, I gave birth again 18 months later, and returned to the midwives at U of L for their support. They are miracle workers, and I was educated, supported, and empowered during and after the entire process. Damara, Jackie and Joanie are a true dream team! "
