"Nice person. A few details from my encounter with Dr. Protomastro. First of all, I did not choose Dr. Protomastro, Norwalk Hospital ER picked him for me. I fractured my wrist in 4 places, on (12/30/2018). It was set by Dr. Protomastro the day after I injured it (12/31/2018). It was set in his office and he even suggested it would collapse and that I would need surgery. I returned a week later (1/7/2019). My wrist was x-Rayed and the doctor said it looked good and he put my wrist in a hard cast. I returned on 1/14/2019 for a follow up. It was x-rayed again; the doctor said it looked good and handed me a script to set-up physical therapy for when my cast was removed, which was scheduled and done on 2/8/2019. My wrist was x-rayed after the cast was removed and all Dr. Protomastro said to me was: “it isn’t ideal” and he told me to do my PT for 6 weeks and come back to see him. It was visibly clear from the photo I took of my x-ray that my wrist was way off!! Numerous people that saw the photo said to me, “you need to see a surgeon, ASAP”! I then sent photos of my x-rays to a few wrist specialists. I received a response from a team of surgeons at HSS in NYC who wanted to see me ASAP! I went to HSS on 2/14/2019, had a CT Scan done and was scheduled for surgery the next afternoon (2/15/2019). My surgery took 3 hours, they had to re-break my wrist, do a bone graft, use a Cadaver bone and put in plates and screws. Thanks to Dr. Protomastro, I was headed in the wrong direction for 6 weeks, but now I am finally headed in the right direction thanks to the doctors at HSS. I am very grateful to them. "
