"This ED Physician must have forgotten that he took the Hippocratic Oath which is sacred to Medical Doctors especially “I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them free from harm and injustice “. I always believed and told people that The Mayo Clinic is the ABSOLUTE BEST Hospital that provides the best care in the U.S.A. Until my horrific encounter with Erik Shawn Gauharou, MD as the ED attending physician last night! He is absolutely the most inept, incompetent and uncompassionate physician that I have ever seen in my professional career. I am a post-surgical patient. One week after my surgery, I passed out, was incredibly nauseous, could not stop vomiting and was in severe pain. I decided to go to the ER to make sure there was not more damage to my surgical sight. This physician did not even take the time to look at my wrist which still has 10 stitches. He did, however, order X-rays and a C Erik Shawn Gauharou, MD but he clearly did not look at any of my labs or radiology results or he would have known that the X-ray showed soft tissue swelling at the wrist which is not normal after surgery. He would also have noticed that my lab work showed increased presence of infection, which is a huge concern after any surgery. It took two hours to receive a pain tablet and he did nothing for my nausea until prior to discharge after I repeatedly begged him to give me something for nausea…after quite a few minutes of going back and forth about this, he became very rude, started to walk out of my room while I was still talking to him, talked over me, pointed and waved his finger at me then continued to walk out of my room. My potassium was low but he was not concerned about that because that was not his problem or concern at the moment."

"I was sent to this doctor by a third party workers comp company called Broadspire. Broadspire is trying to disprove that I could have gotten stage 1 kidney disease after being exposed to chemicals for four straight days in a closed office environment. This doctor's report was so biased and had the audacity to state that I could not have gotten sick with the 4 day exposure to chemicals without even knowing any of the chemicals used. I told him I could look it up on my phone really quick and firmly opposed. At the appointment, he did not allow me to give any of my blood work that showed I have never had any problems with my kidneys, even blood work 3 weeks prior. This is the exact blood work I had given to the 3rd party workers comp company (who also felt that this blood work was not of importance?) . If you are looking for a doctor who truly practices with integrity, this is not the one. "
